A new development, Orchard Ridge Apartments, may soon be built on the corner of Spotswood Trail (Route 33 East) and Jim Britt Way (previously Boyers Road) as shown here...

The property owner is proposing that the 2.698 acre parcel be rezoned from A-2 to Planned Multi-Family (PMF) to allow for the construction of 60 apartments each with two bedrooms.  The apartments would be constructed as (5) apartment buildings as shown on the proposed site plan below.

The Rockingham County Planning Commission recently held a public hearing regarding this rezoning request and recommended approval.  Next up, the Board of Supervisors will consider the request.
