The Residence and Shoppes at Peach Grove
The Harrisonburg City Council will hold a Public Hearing on May 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM on a variety of topics, including the potential rezoning of land on Peach Grove Avenue for the development of "The Residence and Shoppes at Peach Groves".

UPDATE: The applicant has tabled the request until May 28.  The public hearing will not take place on May 14.
The Residence and Shoppes at Peach Grove
Here are some key points to know based on the information packet provided during the Planning Commission meeting in April.
  • The developer (Skylar & Talli, LLC) plans to build one six-story mixed-use building.

  • The building would likely include approximately 16,000 SF of retail space for businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, clothing retailers and convenience stores.

  • The 2nd through 6th floor of the building would be apartments with 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms.  The developer plans to have 120 total apartments.

  • The developer is proffering to not include any more than 400 bedrooms in all of the apartments.

  • The Project Overview provided by the developer states that they hope the project will be "a high end, high quality, young professional - student living facility offering a high level of security, quality, convenience and maintenance."  As to the retail space, it would be "geared for a younger population and will cater to the residents, surrounding neighborhoods and will invite pedestrian traffic."

  • Potential amenities for the apartments include a secure lobby, exercise room, game room, computer room, laundry facilities and bike storage space.
If you want to provide input on this potential rezoning for this potential development, attend the City Council meeting on May 14, 2019 at 7:00 PM.
