SINGLE FAMILY HOME SALES are BACK!
OK -- but really, it is rather remarkable to look at 2016 single family home sales. And who could have seen this coming? At best, I thought we might see 850 of these sales in 2016 -- or MAYBE (possibly, but not likely) 875 sales. But we ended up seeing 978 sales!?! Let's look a bit closer....
- After three years hovering between 810 and 820 sales per year, all of a sudden, single family home sales jumped up to 978 sales in 2016!
- There have actually only been two years (ever, it seems) when more than 978 single family homes sold in a year --- 1,024 in 2004 and 1,025 in 2005. That was in the frenzy of the housing BOOM.
- So, now the questions would be --- will we see another 978-ish single family home sales in 2017 ... and ... will there be enough listing inventory for this many home sales to take place?
