Per the data I'm working with (Sept '09), I find the following to be true, as pictured in the graphic above:

• 81% of Harrisonburg properties are owned by people with a Harrisonburg home mailing address (city plus Rockingham County homes with "Harrisonburg" mailing addresses)
• 87% of Harrisonburg properties are owned by people with a home mailing address in Harrisonburg or Rockingham County
• 95% of Harrisonburg properties are owned by people with a home mailing address in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Behind Virginia, the highest number of Harrisonburg property owners reside in:

• Pennsylvania (98 properties = 0.66%)
• Maryland (93 properties = 0.63%)
• North Carolina (65 properties = 0.44%)

Finally, while Harrisonburg property owners stretch out across most of the country, not a single current resident of these states owns property in Harrisonburg:

• Idaho
• Michigan
• Mississippi
• Nevada
• New Mexico
• North Dakota
• Wisconsin
